Trembling art: this confectioner creates unbelievable 3D cakes from jelly
Have you ever thought that confectionery is a form of art? Siew Heng Boon creates incredible cakes that do not look like something edible. Her transparent masterpieces remind heavy glassware with flowers inside. 3D jellycakes are made from gelatin. Spectacular patterns are painted with special tools that inject colors.
Boon’s cakes are an excellent example of food that has become art. It all started a few years ago, when her mother’s neighbor brought them a jelly cake. The girl was intrigued with the dessert so much that she enrolled in cookery courses of the famous art teacher of 3D jelly in Malaysia.
After some practice, she started posting pictures of her creations on Facebook and Instagram. Now she needs about four hours to create a sweet and amazing art object. After a while she founded Jelly Academy in Sidney.
From enchanted forest for a Halloween party to a spring garden for a dear friend? or sweet pastel bouquet for a special occasion? or maybe a spring koi pond masterpiece? Everything is possible!
All the cakes are made from natural ingredients only. You may order one if you want to impress your guests. The price is about $100-150 each.
