Taormina: a bright star of the Ionic sea

Taormina is one of the most famous resorts of Sicily. It is located right near the sea and features breathtaking landscapes and rich historical heritage around. This is one of those places you obviously must see!

Greek Theater
The theater was built in the 2nd century AD. The Romans turned the stage into an arena where gladiator fights and hunting shows took place.

Duomo
The cathedral dedicated to St. Nicholas, has a huge bell tower resembling a fortress. It is located on Piazza del Duomo.

Corso Umberto
Corso Umberto is the main street of Taormina. This ancient road that crosses the old city center, is perfect for romantic walks!

Piazza IX Aprile
This is most famous square in Taormina. Here you will find numerous open-air cafes, as well as religious and historical buildings. And, of course, a charming panoramic view over the sea!

Palace of the Dukes of Santo Stefano
It is considered to be a real masterpiece of the Gothic Sicilian style with a mixture of Arabic and Norman elements. It is obviously worth your attention!

Isola Bella
It is a large green island connected with the mainland by a thin strip of sand. Here you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.

Local cuisine features a great variety of products and bright combinations. The dishes are absolutely delicious, and the cafes and small restaurants are literally at every step! Be careful: during high season it’s difficult to find inexpensive hotel.
