Step into the future: self-flying taxi completes its test run in Dubai
For the first time in our history a SELF-flying taxi has completed its run in a ceremony staged for Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.
Volocopter was created by German drone firm. It can take aboard two passengers for a maximum 30-minutes flight. 18 propellers provide maximum speed 100 km/h. For the possible case of emergency Volocopter is equipped with extra rotors, back-up batteries and a couple of parachutes.
It is quite possible that by the end of the year Volocopters will become a usual taxi in Dubai instead of cars. Very soon we’ll find out if this ambitious dream will come true, but still the first step into the future has already been made.
