How to slow down speeding cars? Just paint 3D zebra crosswalk on the road! (VIDEO)
We all know that road safety is very important. But there are creative people take it to the next level.
Recently in a small Icelandic town Ísafjörður a new exciting pedestrian crossing was painted. In fact, it is an optical illusion that attracts attention of the drivers and forces them to slow down.
It looks like these “zebra stripes” are floating!
Ralf Trylla, Icelandic environmental commissioner, saw a similar project carried out in New Delhi, India. Local street painting company Vegmálun GÍH helped this wonderful idea to become reality in Ísafjörður. And now pedestrians of this small fishing town are out of danger and feel themselves walking on the air.
