To begin with, lava is a hot liquid rock that comes out of volcanoes during eruptions. The first thing that needs to be said is the biggest hazard of lava flows is that they destroy property. It is made up of crystals, volcanic glass, and volcanic gases. It is undeniable that lava is extremely hot. Moreover, it can reach temperatures of about 600-1300°C, which seems to confirm the idea that it can cause injuries, melt snow and ice.
It would be unfair not to mention that fact that the temperature of the lava actually depends on the composition of the minerals in it. These are aluminum, potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium.
