Pedestrians in China are blasted with water for crossing at red lights
Despite running the red light is dangerous, lots of people are ready to risk their lives in order to save some minutes of own time. It looks like the latest invention is going to change this sad situation.
In the city of Daye (China) a unique way to stop jaywalkers was presented. The idea is simple: just to spray them down with water. A water-spraying system was set up on both sides of crossing. Those pedestrians who tried to run the red light, were blasted with water immediately. What a shock! But it looks to be rather good way out when other methods do not work.
The system cost £146,000 to develop and install. “The internal temperature of the bollards is set at 26 degrees Celsius and workers will fill them up with clean water every day so there is no need to worry about pollution or catching a cold,” explains the policeman.
Do you think it will work?
