That is how an “ozone hole” over Antarctica looks like (VIDEO)
A group of scientists has presented an animation of giant “ozone hole” over Antarctica. ESA reports that the data was obtained from seven European and American satellites.
We all know that ozone is a powerful greenhouse gas. The ozone layer, in its turn, protects life on our planet from ultraviolet radiation. The overall effect of ozone changes on the climate is a warming of the atmosphere.
The hole over Antarctica changes its size all the time. It is connected with the release of CFCs which destroy the protective layer of Earth. It may cause skin cancer, cataract and problems with immune system. High level of sun radiation can also be very harmful for flora and fauna.
