Jewel Changi Airport has an indoor waterfall. Be sure to experience this wonder!
You enter an airport terminal and, instead of a noisy hive, find yourself surrounded by nature … Sounds like fantasy, but it’s an exceptional modern reality: gloomy reception desks and waiting rooms are a thing of the past! The main airport of Singapore completed the construction of a giant indoor waterfall 40 meters high.
Multifunctional complex of Jewel Changi Airport occupies 134 thousand square meters and has 10 floors, 5 of which are hidden under the ground. On the territory there are numerous attractions, a hotel and a garden topped with a giant Rain Vortex waterfall which falls directly from the roof. It looks impressive, but in fact the waterfall performs an exceptionally practical function: it pumps rainwater, which, regarding the frequent thunderstorms, is in excess in Singapore. Besides, this flow cools the air under the dome of the building, and the collected water goes to the needs of the airport.

Now, waiting for the flight, you can take an amazing walk through the lush green garden flooded with natural light instead of wasting your time on social networks. While walking, you can see plants from around the world: more than 900 trees and palm trees are planted on the territory, as well as about 60 thousand bushes.

The complex, for which $ 1.7 billion was spent, is expected to play an important role in the development of local tourism and aviation. And it’s a unique case when an airport itself is worth coming to a city!
