He built a castle out of sand. Now it’s the most unusual home ever (VIDEO)
Brazil native Marcio Mizael Matolias, who got the nickname “The King”, has built a sandy castle on the beach and lived there for 22 years. The masterpieces of Antoni Gaudi and Oscar Niemeyer were the sources of his inspiration.
Initially, Marcio was not going to live in his castle: it was supposed to be a bookstore. But after a while a sandy building, fortified with wooden beams, became his permanent home.
The King cooks on a stove right on the beach, and pays for the shower at the fire station across the road. All his free time he reads, plays golf and improves the castle.
