Garden challenge completed: war veteran raises over £12 million for NHS by walking in his garden
Thousands of people all over the world do their best in order to win a sudden Coronavirus fight. The worldwide problem turner out to rather hard to cope with, but there always is a hope for best. Especially when we have amazing people around.
Thus, captain Tom Moore, who is actually a 99-year-old veteran, managed to raise unbelievable £12m for NHS staff. He started the fundraise on April 8, and his initial goal was to get £1,000 for UK hospitals staff, as well as for patients fighting with the disease.
By his Birthday, which is on April 30, Moore hoped to complete walking 100 length of his garden in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire. Aided by a zimmer frame, he managed not just to complete the distance long before his Birthday… After the challenge was over, it turned out that he has raise more than £12 million in donations!
Moore’s final lap was complemented with a guard of honor given by the soldiers from the 1st Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Let’s take a look at video of such an inspiring event!
