Despite the devastating fires, Australian forests refuse to die and now the first shoots DO appear!
Australia is experiencing one of the worst environmental disasters in its history. Temperatures of about 70°C caused by fires, thousands of destroyed houses and fields and millions of lives of animals and humans are just some of the consequences of the violent forest fires that have hit the country and that can even be seen from space. After weeks, however, green shoots appear here and there among the devastated trees. The struggle continues, and Mother Nature it knows.
Despite all the seriousness of the situation, Nature has shown once again that life always prevails in the face of adversity. Just take a look at this images captured by a photographer in the New South Wales area, which was razed to the ground shortly before the end of 2019.
It must have been a desolate and apocalyptic landscape, but instead we actually see a testament to the stamina of life and nature against all odds.
While the fight against fires is far from its end, a piece of news like this should remind us that while things seem very negative today, life will always find a way to re-emerge. There is no fire that lasts forever.
Mary Voorwinde, one of the photographer who captured these beautiful images, shares some beautiful words that summarize the powerful symbolism of her photographs on her Facebook page: “I wanted to show that nature was telling us that everything would be fine in the end.”
And some more inspiring evidences of the strength of Nature:
