30 Surreal pictures by Chema Madoz: things that you see are not the things they really are!
Surrealism, visual poetry and a touch of irony are the tools that help Jose Maria Rodríguez Mados to transform reality by means of photography. The artist and photographer, better known under the pseudonym Chema Madoz, was born in Madrid in 1958. People call him Salvador Dali of our time, and he really deserves this titile.
His visual art is known all over the world. In front of his camera even ordinary objects change their purpose and get a new life. The artist traditionally prefers black and white still life.
“Objects and words have similar features,” says Madoz. “By interacting with each other they create absolutely new meaning.”
It’s hard to argue with the photographer. And, actually, there’s no need to do it: his artistic metaphors are truly original and fascinating!
Sometimes it’s hard to believe that Madoz uses just ordinary objects that we come across every day. His combinations seem impossible, but there is something exciting in them!
